During the archaeological prospections in Ferrel, part of the Archaeological Chart of Peniche, shell beds remains were identified in a foot path connecting to another acheological site, identified as Fortim do Baleal. There is a small stain of soils of dark hues was identified, containing remains of pottery and lithic industries.

In a cutting area there were identified remains of malacological fauna, lithic industry and some pottery shards. The practically null identification of chronologically similar sites to this presented reality, makes it that this site deserves a more in-depth study, as well as different acknowledgement in what is the archaeological panorama known in the region of Peniche. In the neighbour towns of Lourinhã, Torres Vedras and Mafra there are analogous realities which have already been identified and interventioned.
