APONTAMENTOS SOBRE O POVOAMENTO DE ÉPOCA ROMANA NO CONCELHO DA CHAMUSCA (SANTARÉM, PORTUGAL)

O artigo que se segue tenta demonstrar, ainda com dados muito preliminares, o povoamento da época Romana existente no Concelho da Chamusca (Santarém, Portugal). Este território em causa encontra-se até ao momento por estudar no que diz respeito a este período, e as referências relativamente ao mesmo são escassas e encontram-se dispersas pela bibliografia. Os dados que aqui se apresentam resultaram de um estudo efetuado através da análise das fontes bibliográficas e recolha de informação oral, que foram confirmadas através de trabalhos de prospeção aos locais identificados. Os resultados obtidos possibilitaram a identificação de 41 sítios arqueológicos e com potencial arqueológico atribuído ao período Romano, podendo demonstrar de uma forma linear e geral o povoamento Romano neste território.

Abstract:
The article that follows attempts to demonstrate, still with very preliminary data, the settlement of the Roman period in the municipal district of Chamusca (Santarém, Portugal). The area in question is currently found for studying in regard to this period, and the references for the same, are scarce and are dispersed throughout the bibliography. The information presented here are the result of a study carried out by analyzing bibliographic sources and the gathering of oral testimony, that have been confirmed through prospecting work to selected locations. The results obtained allowed the identification of 41 archaeological sites and potential sites attributed to the Roman period. This way it is possible to demonstrate a linear and generally Roman settlement in this territory.
