Abstract

Research in the history of archeology is not restricted to understanding the evolution of archaeological thought, nor to demonstrating the importance of individuals, institutions and projects in the process of assertion and development of archaeology itself. The history of archaeology is also not limited to proving the multiplicity of its relevance and use in diferent ideological and political agendas. Today, more than ever, the history of archaeology must assume itself as a "citizen science", helping to understand the many relationships that are being established between archaeology, territory, community, memory, feeling, emotion and sustainable development.
