Abstract

Historic centers are characterized by being spaces that contain occupational and historical palimpsests, which leave marks on the heritage. Through the various urban regeneration interventions carried out by the Municipality of Nisa, it was possible to recognize and record new data about the evolution of occupation of the historic center and, mainly, about the walled fence. Within the scope of two rehabilitation works, we were able to attest to the existence of two "new" towers. One located next to the Porta de Montalvão and the other on the northern wall section. These military-oriented constructions were almost invisible as they were fully integrated into housing.
