Abstract

Avis Archaeological Centre has elaborated a diagnosis of the archaeological heritage in the Report on the State of Spatial Planning, highlighting the need to regulate an preventives evaluation and intervention. In this context, the review of the Archaeological Chart of Avis is a priority, allowing an update of data, as well as the identification of aptitudes and an assessment of possible interferences on the heritage.

The Archaeological Chart plays a decisive role as a territorial management, planning and organisation instrument, whose framework and regulamentation depends on its integration in Avis PDM (Municipal General Plan).

Using the current archaeological heritage reference framework as a basis, are presented the guidelines which determine the current process of revision of the Archaeological Chart of Avis, as well as a reflexion on the strategic options and the methodological and technical procedures to be adopted in the implementation of safeguard measures in the scope of the PDM.
